Coach TJ is a seasoned professional dedicated to developing players from their very first swing to the elite competitive stage. With a background as a multi-sport athlete in ice hockey, field hockey, and golf, she brings a unique, high-performance perspective to the green. 

A Legacy of Elite Performance

Coach TJ’s career is defined by excellence at every level of the game:

National Prominence: Ranked 7th in Canada as a Junior and 4th in Canada as an Amateur. 

Team Excellence: Represented Team Canada (Top 2) and played on five BC Teams (Top 4). 

Collegiate Success: A standout at the University of Washington, securing 4 wins and 4 runner-up finishes. 

The Global Stage: Competed in four major championships, including the prestigious 1986 U.S. Open. 

Course records: during her active competing years, Coach TJ held 9 Course Records from 1984 to 1990, many of which still stand today.

Beyond her playing career, Coach TJ is a master of the technical and mentorship aspects of the sport:

LPGA Life Member: A respected veteran in the professional golf community. 

Master Clubmaker: A professional clubmaker who has personally crafted over 10,000 custom clubs, ensuring her students’ equipment matches their talent. 

Award-Winning Mentor: Recognized as the Western Section Junior Leader of the Year in 2021, 2022, and 2024. 

Pioneer and Entrepeneur

After returning to Canada in 1987 and opening the first high-tech indoor studio in the Province and country, Coach TJ went on to develop many more "firsts". She formulated a comprehensive golf training curriculum to systematically develop skills from a new player to a scratch golfer, and certification programs for golf coaches, Golf Tier System^©, utilized by golf Academies. She has published 8 golf-related books, including a children's book series, and designed several highly popular educational golf board games and flashcards. She also launched several successful businesses, including 2 premier teaching facilities, Zone Golf Academy in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, and Zone Golf Pathway in Henderson, Nevada, U.S.A., and is the Founder of the premier university placement program, Future U Pathway^TM.

Coach TJ's pioneering spirit is exemplified by many other "firsts" including:

- First girl to play in the BC Boys High School Championship (1979)

- First Canadian Women Golfer to be nominated for the Miss Golf Digest (July 1980)

- First Canadian women golfer to play in the PAC 10 (1980-1984)

- First UW Women golfer to be the Team Captain for 3 years (1982, 1983, 1984)

- First UW golfer (male or female) to be the designated ‘teacher’ for the University (1981-1984)

- First Canadian women to be the Head Instructor for the du Maurier Classic (1998)

- First Professional Woman Clubmaker in Canada (1990)

- First Teaching Professional Division Winner of the LPGA BMO Series (1999)

- First Professional Women’s Golf Tour, launched with fellow LPGA Professional, Linda Jervis (1989-1991)
