Michelle’s journey in competitive golf began in the tenth grade under the mentorship of Coach TJ. This foundational period sparked a career that led her to the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo and subsequently to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).
It was in Las Vegas that Michelle dived deep into the PGA Golf Management program, learning the ins and outs of the industry with a focus on helping players grow. Michelle always had a power game and loves working with junior/juniors and new players.
Since returning home to Vancouver, she has become a familiar face at the University Golf Club. Always looking to level up for her students, Michelle is a GTS Certified Coach currently working toward her LPGA certification.
Having an associates degree (2 years) from the UNLV PGA Golf Management program, Michelle possesses a level of technical and industry knowledge that goes far beyond basic swing tips. Players benefit from a coach who understands the science, operations, and professional standards of the game.
Michelle has a genuine passion for working with juniors. She understands the unique physical and mental needs of young athletes, helping them build a sustainable love for the sport while developing competitive skills.
With a personal background in a power-based game, Michelle is the ideal coach for players looking to increase their distance, optimize their launch conditions, and add significant speed to their swing.
Starting golf can be intimidating, but Michelle excels at working with new players. She breaks down the complexities of the sport into manageable, confidence-building steps that get new golfers course-ready faster.
As a GTS Certified Coach, Michelle is trained in specific, proven coaching methodologies. This certification ensures that her students are receiving instruction based on modern, validated training systems rather than "guesswork."
Because Michelle’s own journey began in the 10th grade and led to Collegiate Golf (UH Hilo), she can mentor aspiring high school and college players on what it takes to balance academics with competitive athletics.
Her time in Las Vegas and Hawaii provided her with exposure to different course types, climates, and coaching styles. She brings a broad, international perspective to the local Vancouver golf scene.
The fact that she is currently pursuing her LPGA certification shows that Michelle is a "student of the game." Players benefit from a coach who is constantly updating her own skills and staying at the cutting edge of golf instruction.
Having been part of the "Zone family" for over a decade, Michelle offers a sense of stability and community. Students aren't just getting a coach; they are joining a long-standing developmental ecosystem.
Michelle’s focus was on "helping players grow" in all aspects of the game. Her lessons cover more than just the swing—including course management, mental toughness, and an understanding of golf industry standards.
